Heat pumps are an ideal heating solution for many domestic and commercial buildings and applications, either replacing or working alongside existing heating systems. Properly specified and installed, your heat pump can provide you with clean, low-cost heat and a significant revenue stream.
How do they work
An air source heat pump (ASHP) uses a natural source of heat – air – to produce energy. They extract heat from the outside air and convert it into heat. They can even extract heat from the air even when the temperature is as low as -15° C.
Heat pumps can be used to heat underfloor heating systems, radiators, warm air converters and to heat water.
The heat being extracted from the air is constantly being renewed naturally making them a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.
Running costs will vary depending on a number of factors such as the size of your property, how well insulated it is and the type of temperature you are aiming to achieve.
